Resin Transfer Moulding
RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) technology is a vacuum-assisted, closed-mould resin transfer process that is ideal for the economical and reproducible production of medium-volume parts (1,000–10,000 pieces per year).
In this process, preformed fiber reinforcement is placed in a closed, fitted mold and then impregnated with resin under controlled conditions. The result is high laminate density, a high glass-to-resin ratio, and outstanding mechanical properties.
One of the significant advantages of this technology is that the parts coming out of the mold have a final, high-quality surface on both sides, minimizing the need for post-processing.
Main advantages of the process
High surface quality: The closed tool system allows for the creation of aesthetically and technically flawless surfaces.
Efficient production cycle time: Under controlled pressure and vacuum conditions, the process ensures fast and stable production.
Outstanding mechanical performance: Clamping pressure and controlled resin injection result in an optimal fiber-resin ratio and high structural strength.
Clean and automatable process: The closed mold system and mechanized handling minimize emissions, ensure repeatability, and support industrial automation.
